Melamine Slab Doors
Melamine slab doors are made up of melamine paper fused to the face and back of ¾” thick particle board or MDF substrate. The door panels are cut to size and then edges are finished with matching or contrasting PVC edgebanding . Melamine slab doors are economical and very durable offering years of service. Melamine is less scratch resistant than HPL however it is less likely to delaminate or chip. A melamine slab door can typically be replaced cheaper than an HPL slab door can be repaired.
High Pressure Laminate (HPL) Slab Doors
HPL slab doors are made up of HPL or Plastic Laminate sheets bonded to the face and back of ¾” thick particle board or MDF substrate. The door panels are cut to size and then edges are finished with matching or contrasting HPL or PVC edgebanding. HPL slab doors are more expensive than Melamine while offering better scratch resistance. HPL slab doors are commonly specified by designers and architects for commercial and institutional casework.

Plywood Slab Doors
Plywood Slab Doors offer the warm feel and texture of solid wood in a more contemporary look. They can be stained or painted to accent any decor. The edges of Plywood Slab Doors can be banded with matching .5 mm solid wood tape for a seamless solid wood look or up to ½” matching solid wood.
